Following the unbearably sad news that David has passed away, I do know how you and the family must be feeling. I can’t believe that both lovely husbands have passed away within six months of each other after a 45 year long friendship. I wish I could believe that they will meet up in the afterlife. Even though we realised how ill David was, it’s an unbelievable shock when the end comes. I want you to know that you and your family are constantly in my thoughts. I have been thinking about all the lovely times our families had together over so many years - great holidays too - especially walking the Lake District Fells in our younger, fitter days, and more recently helping David to achieve his goal of walking “one more time” right around Lake Buttermere. I know that the difficult days to come will be helped by the love and support of your family. Many wonderful memories of a very special friend will always remain with me. With much love from Rita.
